Maddies Fund and the SPCA of Northern Nevada are pleased to announce that Medicare and Nevada Food Stamp (Quest) programs are now accepted in the Maddies Spay/Neuter Project. Effective immediately if you have a Medicare Card, Medicaid Card, Nevada Checkup Card or a Nevada Food Stamp Quest card you can have your pet altered at one of our many participating veterinary clinics.

Maddie’s Spay -Neuter Project in Nevada is a new program designed to help lower-income Nevada residents spay and neuter their pets at very low cost. It is part of a broader movement to end the killing of healthy and treatable animals at our animal shelters. Maddie’s Spay-Neuter Project in Nevada is a true collaboration; private practice veterinarians provide the surgeries, our animal shelters track the results, many organizations help to publicize and promote the program, and Maddie’s Fund® provides the funding and vision. Maddie’s Fund® founders Dave and Cheryl Duffield first fell in love with Maddie, their beloved Miniature Schnauzer, when she was only ten days old. "Maddie melted our hearts from the first second we saw her," recalls Cheryl. Dave, Cheryl and Maddie went on to share ten memorable and happy years together. Dave remembers one particularly good day during the formation of his company, PeopleSoft. Playing with Maddie, he picked her up and made the following promise: "If we ever make some money, I promise we will give it back to you and your kind so others can be as happy as we are today." Today, through Maddie’s Fund®, Dave and Cheryl are fulfilling their promise.
