Why Spay and Neuter?

There are many reasons why you should spay/neuter your pet. This is an important decision for all pet owners and a responsible one for our pet population. Roughly six to eight million dogs and cats come through shelters around the United States each year, and only three to four million of those animals are adopted. Getting your animal spayed or neutered is the most effective way to avoid the high national rate of companion animal euthanasia.

The SPCA of Northern Nevada strongly encourages spaying or neutering of pets to help with the overpopulation crisis. Spaying/neutering will not only prevent unwanted pregnancies, it will also make your pet healthier and live longer.

All pet owners are strongly encouraged to bring vaccination records with them to the clinic. If copies are needed in the future, there will be a $5 charge. So please secure your records.
