Offers the SNIPS voucher program. Qualified participants may obtain a voucher that entitles them to a $10 spay or neuter at the A+ animal hospital. Must be a Washoe County resident and on public assistance (ie: medicare, medicaid, social security, disability, welfare, and food stamps). Their name is placed on a wait list and they are contacted when a voucher is available for pick up.

Has a spay and neuter assistance program with a small co-pay. Ideal candidates are low income non-Washoe County Residents.

$55 surgery (flat rate for all dogs and cats) offered at Advanced Pet Care (www.apcnv.com) in Sparks one weekend a month. Program is available to Nevada residents with a total household income below $25,000 per year. Animals scheduled for surgery may also recieve low cost vaccines ($15 per vaccine), micro chipping, and heartworm testing. Valid proof of income must be provided at surgery check-in. The humane society offers two programs: a voucher program for Washoe County dogs and an onsite clinic for all county cats. See details below:

Dogs

Washoe County Residents

Offer Vouchers for dogs over 30lbs. Surgery held at Northwest Veterinary. Program for females only.

Co-pay for vouchers: Females—$55
(Must pay the co-pay at NHS when they get the voucher.)
